2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 cheapdark (2962) - Quiptown & Central Valley, USA - JAN 2, 2012
From a light green can with red and black lettering. I know this brewery is listed as Smithton but I’m pretty sure this is brewed by city brewing in latrobe. Right on the can it says latrobe. Poured from can looks like an ipa. Big rocky head and an appearance that is slightly darker than pale lager, perhaps even a little haze. Smell is mild hops. Yes, has some sort of hop presentation initially but then it is followed by an almost tart sizzle of citrus appeal. Each swig has that evolution of flavors. Hops, then citrus sizzle then a finish of bitter hops. Once in a while I thought I had the aroma of soap in my olfactory. Yes a bitter industrial finish of dull hops. A little better than an ipa fer sure.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3388) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a yellow-gold color with a huge billowing soapy yellow-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faint floral and sour fruity hops with a bit of tangy lemon. The flavor was dryish, floral and a touch harsh with vague bitter fruity hops. The finish was long and bitter with notes of lemon and floral hops. Medium body.

Grainy malts, almost astringent with a bit of citrusy backing, metallic notes as well. Dry finish, somewhat medicinal, almost? Not alotta good goin on here. 12 0z can. 3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Serving: 12 oz. can. It pours a light amber orange with a small, sticky, off-white head. The nose is light with notes of orange and a touch of pine. The Flavor is light with some light hops up front and some grain coming up next. Some orange, a brief nuttiness, and some light grain notes. Easy and drinkable with a light to medium body. A decent session brew.
