COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True Trappist (Monastary Monk) production values. Aged six months in the cask with charred french oak. The aroma has toffee, meadow flowers and an underlying nutty bitterness. Tastes of caramel, toffee and minced nuts with a soft fruitiness.

Sampled at AleFest on tap. After several delays this special tapping came at about 3:30, and for free, well i can’t complain too much. Pours a cloudy brown with some gold tints and a light tan head. Very nutty and toasted aroma, not strong or complex but like the rest of it not bad. Smooth and drinkable nutty, toffee, toasted flavors. I do enjoy the smoothness of this a lot and I could enjoy another one of these, but meh i’m losing interest in this.

On tap at the Flatlanders Brew Pub. The beer menu has this listed as their Grand ’Crew’. I thought that was funny. Poured a dark brown color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of wood, smoke, floral, toffee, and nutty. Tastes of chocolate, spices, caramel, nuts, and some wood. Light alcohol in the finish. The best beer I had there today (glad I got the full sized, snifter glass, of it).

They were serving this one gratis at the festival. Thanks. It pours a cloudy dark amber body with an off-white head. The aroma had some toffee, meadow flowers, and an underlying nutty bitterness. It tasted of toasted grains, caramel & toffee, a soft fruitiness, and minced nuts. Not bad.

on tap, my notes are scarce on this one...poured hazy brown with off-white head. nose was toasted biscuit. flavor was very nutty, toasted grains, and finishes pretty smooth. a tasty beer but nothing that interesting.
