Beautiful appearance with a very dark amber body. A nice off white head forms and leaves decent lacing. Very pleasant aroma of toasted malt, cocoa, and raisins. The brew is very smooth, but a bit weak on the palate. Fairly sweet flavor with the malt and nutiness taking center stage. Aftertaste a bit like tea. Very good beer.

Appearance- clear, copper, amber. Small to medium bone white head that lasted a good bit. Light lacing. Smell-not much of a nose. Malty and bready. Clean. Light roast. Taste- like the nose, malty and bready. Raisiny sweet. Mouthfeel- thin, light. Overall- just ok. Nothing special. Won’t be purchasing again. Cheers!

DWG; Take away from Frankfurt. Pours clear copper with a large, frothy, off-white, lasting, lacing head. Nose is malt, caramel, bread, grass and light spice. Taste is light to moderate sweet, light bitter and light spicy with a somewhat short finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Erzengel (2399) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2014

Copper colored beer with a slightly off-white head. Aromas of caramel and raisins. Tastes of caramel/butterscotch, woody notes, and dried raisins. Some mild chocolate flavoring too. Sweet finish. The flavors are a bit muted, making this beer seem rather simple. Overall very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear brown color, medium beige head. Slight roast aromas, not much, but notable. Taste is bit sweet, light sour, light bitter. Thin body, average carbonation. Aftertaste has a bit roastmalt in it and is rather bitter. There are better dark beers out there.

Copper amber color with a tannish head. Quite malty and sweet with caramel, nuts, and earthiness. The finish is a little thin with some aftertaste. Not bad, not a standout.
