Bottle west riding dewsbury. Clear gold decent white head. Aroma is pale malts. Taste is sweet pale malts grassy hop finish well balanced. Prickly carbonated. Great lager this one I could quite easily do a session on unlike 99 % of other lagers.

Bottle from my father, bought in Germany. Very light smell and taste but also fairly pure. Feels purer then most industrial lagers. Fairly easy to drink. Very light overall.

Flensburger Gold has a thin, white head, a mostly clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and some minor lacing left behind. You can, upon close inspection, see some fine white specs roiling about the beer, so it is not super filtered. Aroma is of rich, pungent, sweet & sour barley malt and a slight grass. Taste is of the same thing, with a noticeable biscuit note, across the sip. Mouthfeel is medium, and Flensburger Gold finishes crisp and refreshing. No complaints, here. RJT

Bottle from The Real Ale Shop Newark. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Some hay and cereal on aroma. It’s rather fine I thought. Simple. No bad flavours. It’s simple and easy drinking lager. Fine

Gold ist allgemein nicht so meins (man denke nur an das ekelhafte Becks Gold), dieses hier ist jedoch durchaus trinkbar. Leicht salzig, leicht hopfig im Geschmack.

.33l bottle in Belgrade. Quite clear brown-yellow with white foam. Aroma isn’t very distinct. Body is richer premium lager with a little sour note. Sweet soft grains and a little orange peel. Slight bitter finish. OK

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20
Alengrin (2431) - BELGIUM - AUG 13, 2014
Neophyte in the Flensburger range, in a transparent bottle to show off its golden robe, though this increases the risk of lightstruck effects - and surprise surprise, that is the first thing the nose has to endure upon opening the bottle. Coarse, creamy, yellowish, stable head, colour a light yellowish blonde, clear with nice sparkling. Nose gets, as said, a lot of cat pee and wet dog, next to sharp pale malts, corn, celery, grass. Taste begins with a pure and sweetish maltiness, more bitter towards the end with some grassy and peppery hops in the finish. Rather bland, further ruined by the lightstruck effect and quite a disappointment after their Pilsener.
