(Bottle) Pale yellow, clear. Creamy white head, mostly lasting, glass sticking. Herbal, hoppy aroma, moderate maltiness (honey) with light note of bread dough, grain. Malty flavor, nutty, heavily bitter taste, strong herbal (bitter herbs, "mountain chicory"), roasted chestnut aftertaste. Dry palate, light body, long bitter and aromatic finish.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sweet, floral hops in the nose with a touch of something metallic. Clear golden blonde with generously frothy white head that recedes slowly with some lacing. Very strong bitterness with a grainy malt flavour underneath. Medium-light body and refreshing carbonation. Bottle.

Plain and simple pilsner. Used to drink it when I was young. A nice pilsner then. Today it’s boring, but cheap i Germany.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2007 Bottle. Pale yellow. Nice, uncompromising bitterness. Clean and crisp, but in the good way. 6 2 7 3 15
Draught at Porticus. Clear golden colour. Nice, stable, creamy white head. The aroma has a subtle note of aroma hops. Flavour starts off very clean, there is quite some aromatic hoppiness. Finishes with a good, clean bitterness. 7 3 7 3 16

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very yeasty aroma. Nice light color with good head. Shouldn’t have read the other ratings but the flavor is reminiscent of a sour cheese and a fairly strong bitterness. Not a pleasant tasting beer - I guess this is an acquired taste.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beany hops aroma, bit rubbery, and actually a hint of some type of shellfish - shrimp? Odd. Cheesy, sweetly floral. A very strange aroma, but not entirely unpleasant. Changes into a bread-like odor. Appearance is one of the palest yellow beers I've seen - almost like a Chardonnay in color, sparkling. White meringue head which laces and disippates after a while. Light-medium watery body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts with subtle sweetness and medium acidity. A kick of bitterness, before sliding into a clean crisp finish with a big bitter aftertaste. Not quite chalky in it's astringency, but a really long after. Was quite a surprise after the weak start, and the mild looking appearance. Gives a highly hopped IPA a run for the aftertaste.
