UPDATED: NOV 24, 2005 330ml flip top bottle: poured cloudy butterscotch yellow with a medium white head. Light malt/grain aroma. Flavor is slight diacetyl, very slight yeast. Not a very good hefeweizen in my opinion.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep golden, faintly orange. Unclear. Off-white tall lasting head. Sweet yeasty aroma. Bread? Good carbonation. Mild, well balanced flavour. Wheat, yeast and a touch of hops. Metallic. Though a german weize I’d say there was a hint of coriander aroma... Overall easy drinking weize, uncomplex, but quite good.

well, this is a bit different. citrus and bitterness in the aroma. Taste is ... well, almost none! it doesnt matter how big gulps I take, only thing I can sence is how much body it has, some acidness and bitterness. Nice idea, but seriously lacking in the taste depertmanet

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Deep orange - almost coppery - with a surprisingly almost absent head. Extremely full-bodied almost oily character with huge fruity notes and an almost toffeeish flavour. A very different Hefe but a pleasant surprise. 080402

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Yellow to orangey coloured, fluffy, mid-sized head, slowly diminishing; fruity nose: cloves, bananas, a tinge of mushrooms; mild fruity taste, soft texture; slightly tart and bitter finish, traces of mushrooms again; all in all a bit thin bodied, lacks some complexity, but it is refreshing, though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(swing top bottle) Hazy and murky orange colour with a big foamy white head. Wheat malty nose with a touch of citrus. The beginning maltiness and fruitiness turns quickly into a clovy, dry and bitter finish. Not best balanced but very pleasant for me.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow-amber colour with a big white head. Aroma is acidic and yeasty with a faint note of banana - mostly to be found in the vicinity of the glass. Flavour is sweetish with notes of banana and spices and - unfortunately - also plastic. Quite soft palate.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml fliptop bottle, bought in Germany. Hefeweissbiers have had quite a renaissance in Germany, so why not one from the Bundesrepublik’s northernmost commercial brewery too? Hazy golden colour, large white head. Lovely strong aroma of cloves and banana, some aromatic hops too. Flavour like an average hefe with a little more hops. Nice.
