2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
(in can, 50 cl.)
The very good aspect, is of a dirty and cloudy golden color. The head is big, smooth and white. The aroma is fruit-bearing, banana and many yeast. It knows to a malt of a bit sweet wheat. The carbonation is good and has an average body. Probably the wheat is very salient in this beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flip-top bottle with a date on it of 07.10.06. Large white head that mostly diminished, minimal lacing, visible carbonation, cloudy, and a golden hue. Nose was banana, clove, spicy, wheat, and malt. Flavor was wheat, spicy, a tad bit of clove, and somewhat dry tasting. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth, semi-thin and rather dry. Light body. This is one of my favorite beer styles, but it just didn’t stack up to the many, many others of this style that I have rated. It was decent, but not outstanding.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Nice hazy yellow with an amazingly big long lasting white head. Aroma of malt and wheat, bit sweet with some banana and good fruitiness. Flavour is fresh and bit crispy, good wheat, sweet, banan with a good fruitiness, bit of hops. Wheaty with a slight bitterness in the fnish. Very tasty Hefeweizen!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The 3rd in the series of flip top bottles, served in weizen glass of course: The pours displays true weizen characteristics of cloudy golden hue topped by a lasting thick frothy head and excellent lacing. The nose detects banana, lemongrass, and clove yeast esters along with wheat and grainy malts. The taste starts with a slight fruity twang and some wheat overtones supported by a healthy dose of allspice (not really clove like). The finish is dryer than most weizens and is even a bit chalky. The mouth feel has soft persistent carbonation and is too dry for the style making it not as refreshing as the better examples of the genre. Well more than a solid brew it is lacking the body and roundness on the palate to be something I would like the drink on a regular basis.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hazy yellow color with a beautiful thick and lasting white head. Citrusy aroma with some banana. Flavor hints at having a distinctive fruity flavor but in the manages only to seem a bit watered-down. Not a bad beer but really not anything too special either.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beneath a huge pillow of nearly white foam, the beer is a hazy straw color. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of tangy wheat, some tart lemon, and unripe banana.
Semi sweet and delicious wheat bread flavors, accompanied by yeast, clove, banana, and a touch of tangy hop. Refreshing beer nicely in balance. Light to medium body, good carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
In the 355 mL flip cap bottle from Cyclone Liquors. Pours a beautiful murky opaque dark brownish-gold (burnt umber, perhaps?) color with a gigantic wheat beer frothy pillow of a head that completely fills the top half of a 0.5L glass. Outstanding appearance. Great retention and lacing. Aroma is a bit like the smell of my mother’s old Sunbeam mixer whipping up a batch of banana cake batter- that brief reminder of ozone and banana cream pie. Flavor lacks any lemon or banana or cloves. It is simply thick. A very thick palate. Mouth and tongue coating delightfulness. What this beer lacks in flavor, it makes up in character.
