The german wheat beers are travelling north. This fairly new wheat sets itself apart from the typical bavarian by its unique taste and the typical flensburger bottle.

0.33 l bottle. Slightly hazy deep golden color with thick fluffy head. Bread and overripe banana in the aroma. More banana and bread in the flavor along with wheat, honey and some clove. Soft and oily mouthfeel. Overripe banana note is unpleasant.

bottle - Pours hazy yellow with a two finger head and a wheat, yeast, and banana aroma. The flavor is sweet with quite a lot of banana in it. It has an interesting but seemingly unbalanced flavor to go with a light mouthfeel that at least didn’t strike me as watery. It’s ok, but there a many better hefeweizens.

12oz flip top bottle labeled 10.18.08. Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with a huge sized head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, and some light citrus. Tastes of wheat, bananas, and cloves. The tastes where thin and weak, especially compared to the aromas.

Swing top bottle thanks to lb4lb. Been a while since I have had a decent wheat. Murky orange yellow with decent head. Bubble gum and clove on the aromas. Wheat twang on the flavor. Some yeasty bready flavors as well. Not too bad.

Appearance: blond color semi-clouding. Great head, white, consistent and some lasting. Aroma: wheat mainly, yeast tone. Honey, banana and vanilla reminiscences. Light hop’s smells, come herbal. Flavor: some neutral; wheat taste start with slight citric touch and progress of the yeast. Fruity reminiscence of banana and melon. Low hop’s flavors. Wheaty aftertaste Palate: light body and watery texture. Medium carbonated. Some insipid and neutral beer.

Pours dark golden with a wispy, mostly mainted tan head. Aroma of creamy yeast, wheat, bready, clove, banana, and light citrus. Taste is sweet yeast, cookie, clove, apples and banana. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft and supple carbonation. A pretty enjoyable hefe.

Golden, slightly hazy with a nice head. The aroma is thin with notes of wheat and banana. This rather thin feeling continues in the flavour that has the same notes. I would like some power, body and personality in this otherwise inoffensive wheat.

Swing top -- Poured quite deep golden, almost muddy, with a thick tightly-packed head of small foam. The flavor is richly bready with a thick maltose essence. That aroma sullies the flavor. With a pinched nose, the yeasty fruitiness comes thru. But drinking normally, the musty maltiness overtakes it, and it takes on the character of a well used wet rag. Not my favorite weizen. Bottle. Moderate yeasty, mould. Big foamy white head, mostly diminishing; cloudy dark orange body. Light acidic start, only a short duration. Light to medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation. Light metallic finish.
