COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The german wheat beers are travelling north. This fairly new wheat sets itself apart from the typical bavarian by its unique taste and the typical flensburger bottle.

Bottle 0.33L. Hazy, yellow body with average, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Light malty (grains) and hoppy (citrus) aroma with light fruity notes (banana). Light-to-moderate sweet flavour. Light-to-medium body with watery texture; soft carbonation. Overall feeling of a watery, diluted beer...

Bottle purchased and consumed in Serbia. Orange hazy, with a white foamy head which slowly lowers. Nose of lemon, tangerine, a bit of sourness. Mouth: bitter feel, Belgian yeasty notes, orange. Decent weisse close to a Belgian Wit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bb 9/15. Hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of bread, lemon, cloves, more vanilla than banana. Soft texture, medium carbonation. A little on the watery side. Sweet bread, some peach, no real wheaty tanginess, but some lemon and cloves. Pleasant enough.

.33l bottle in Belgrade. Stiff white foam on hazy yellow body. Sweet fine grain and a little bubblegum on aroma. Medium body, some graininess and sour sweetness at end. Pretty well balanced and tasty weiss

Northern German interpretation of a southern German beer genre, inevitably leading to a somewhat different character, which vaguely reminds me of Belgian witbier as well. Dense head, but not as fluffy as I am used to in this style; colour peach blonde, misty. Strong but friendly aroma of pale malts, sourish wheat, banana, pear; taste soft and refreshing, light fruitiness, sourish accent in the finish, brief and late whiff of hop bitterness. Not bad at all, though lacking some of the complexity of its Bavarian ancestors.

Ljusgul grumlig med stort vit skum. Doftar och smakar som en bra weizen ska göra! God törstsläckare!

Effervescent from the 330 ml bottle, Flensburger Weizen bubbles like Sekt and has a fruity aroma with a hint of cloves. It is a bit hazy with a blonde appearance and good head retention. The flavor though is a bit of a disappointment, rather lackluster and nothing like its flavorful Bavarian cousins. The palate is unremarkable. ---Cheers until next time! DMSR
