2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Swing-top bottle: Deep golden coloured, thin fluffy foam, sticking a little bit to the glass; caramel, sweet honey and - mainly- alcohol in the nose; initial sweetish, alcoholic taste; sweet flavour; a littlöe bitterness in the alcoholic, not cloying finish; warming, not very complex, or better: monotonous........................

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
330 ml swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Golden colour, fizzy, large head. Fairly strong sweet and alcoholic aroma, notes of molasses and ammonium, hints of oak and fermenting fruits, not very pleasant. Flavour is malty, too alcoholic and sweet, low bitterness. Pale strong lagers rarely make me happy, and this one is no exception to the rule. Still drinkable - I’ve had worse.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) In 2004 this was a brand new beer from the brewery in Flensburg. The strongest beer I’ve had from this brewery. Perhaps a little surprising this is a light bock. A dark, malty, rich doppelbock might be a more suitable choice for the season. Light amber color with a tall, full head. Very rich and alcoholic, very sweet. Obviously a lot of malt has been used here, and there might be a slight, underlying alcoholic tone. But it’s definitely a beer which is a quality product. Controlled bitterness. 111104

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Golden color. Sweet, boring aroma, with some alcohol. The alcohol is dominant in the taste as well, oily, with poor characteristics, high biitterness and cloying.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2005 Oh man - I was so disppointed. This might be the first of the series of bad beers coming from Flensburger (soon there will be a Flens Gold - which will be as bad as Becks Gold). Light amber color, small medium fast diminishing head. Sweet nose - like candy. Light sweet grainy malt taste, very plain and boring.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Candy-like sweet nose, hugh spongy head, deep amber color. Sugary malt body with a little caramel at the end and only a touch of spice. Too one dimensional. Sweet without anything to counterbalance it.
