3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From Beer Temple. Maybe it was just me that day but in addition to the breadiness of the beer I was tasting a peppery flavor to the hops? Decent IPA over all and nicely balanced with the malt sweetness. Serving: Bottle

Draft at Olympic. From notes. Very good with loads of citrus and a hint of resin. Would love to drink this again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Pine and floral nose with a malt sweetness to balance. Nose also has some strawberries, weird but cool. Clear copper with a persistent off white head. Pine and a rich malt backbone to balance. Bitterness is in check, but is long in the finish. A nice east coast IPA.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a mostly clean golden hue with a lasting frothy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of dank herbal esters, green onion and medicinal vapours along with some citrus and pepper notes. The malt seems sweet and syrupy on the nose, very boozy aroma for just a 7% beer. The taste has aggressive high alpha hop character with some citrus and tropical notes. The malt seems flushed out except for the sugary midsection. The finish is medicinal, boozy and harsh. It is ruining my mellow. Overall this is quite honestly everything that is becoming wrong with craft brewing these days, reliance on big brash flavors over skillful balance. This beer is far too boozy as well. I liked the Saison I had from them much more.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle from Malloy’s (Lisle, IL). Picked up some hoppy beers on a whim after work. Wanted to finally grab some Flesk and see what’s up. Pours a nice deeper amber orange hue, darker middle, a bit dulled, more orange amber glow on the bottom and edges. Tamer dark middle and frothy offwhite head stays as a mellow layer, laces ok, sticks around as a small head. Aromas show a firm floral hopping, touches of grapefruit, firmer pine element. More earthy florals, bigger hop profile and a bit of bready and biscuity malt. Not necessarily a fruity or citrusy melange. A bit of soap, firm pine mix with the florals. Decent grapefruit, bit of lemon. Firm resiny presence, touch of gumball and grapefruit as it warms as settles a bit more. Initial is medium bodied, a mixture of fruity grapefruit, gumball, and citrus mix up front. A firm bitter presence meets a distinct bready element, some soap, gentle biscuit, a touch of oxidation. Middle is still fairly clean, bitter. Florals, grapefruit. A bit thin in body as we start pressing on. Bready, some straw, gentle dough. Firm bitterness is floral, earthy, with a distinct tangy grapefruit and gentle gumball backup. Not complex, but it does work. Backend shows some dryness, gumball, and grapefruit. Simple, dry, and some firm resiny and bitter hops linger on. A thinner body, but still almost a biscuity toasty feel at times. Solid. A bit of an upped hop complexity, touch more body (Over attenuated?), and just a little more life could do it well. Overall, it’s a solid IPA.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
650ml bottle. Pours a deep amber with a foamy white head that sticks and leaves some nice lacing. The smell is a bit mild, I get breadcrust, golden raisin, apricot, sweetness. Interesting aroma though quite light. The flavor is more in your face. A nice bitterness highlights this one, it is intense in both the finish and aftertaste. The flavor is very citrus rindy and piney and there is a flowery herbal flavor as well. This one definitely goes for the bitterness and succeeds.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. serving to stemware at Poor Phil’s in Oak Park, IL., showing a cloudy, orangy gold hue, with a fluffy, white head, and clingy waves & spots to the lacing. The aroma was expressive and bright citrus, mainly tangerine, and smooth malt. Some resin added to the flavor, with medium strength to the nicely lingering hop bitterness, sweetness, medium body, decent carbonation, with a generally good IPA/hop to malt balance throughout. Tasty, but especially love the nose!
