3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2013 Shared bomber poured to snifters displaying an opague, black/brown color, with a modest layer of light tan, bubbly head foam, and fair lacing as spots & strands. The aroma was inviting, with a roasted nature, chocolate, a touch of smoke, and some caramelly sweetness. The taste offered a little more of a smoked impression as it began, and continued with some dryness, moderate hop bitterness, and a touch of astringency. Medium bodied, with soft, but fairly influential carbonation. Pretty smooth, and tasty!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber bottle and served in snifter: Pours a very deep brown, near opaque with a small frothy beige head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of roasted and chocolate malts, earthy and minerally esters, prune and aromatic pipe tobacco, some char and coffee bitterness as well. The taste is sweet and roasted balanced, not much hop profile but I am sure it is there. Ashy and slightly dark fruit twangy finish. The mouth feel could use a boost, perhaps some wheat or other non-fermentable? That said this is very quaffable for 7% ABV.
