Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton 26/07/13. A copper to bronze coloured beer with a whitish head. Hoppy, sweet and fruity with a big body. Notes of bruised fruits. An attempt at a strong IPA by an average brewer turns out to have good parts but an odd sweet honeyed edge. Ok enough.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Had this on cask. Reminded me of my early homebrew. First beer I have not finished due to it being so unpalatable. Tasted undermatured with an unpleasant astringent flavour at the forefront.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle picked up at The Ship in a Bottle, Liverpool. Fading, bubbly, whiten head. Near-clear, golden body. No lacing. Pale malty aroma mingled with dusty hops. Rather bland flavour profile of pale malts and leafy hops. Floury and watered ending. Notes of alcohol. Flat and rather disappointing (Tromsø 29.05.2013).

Cask, gravity at Dudley Winter Ales Festival Sat 26th November 2011 with Bob. Pours hazy gold with a white head. The chap next to me suggests American hops, I’m not sure as all I get is a strange chemically, twiggy flavour. Not really sure about this, to be fair it is three days into this beer festival and I am not convinced that many of the beers are the best of condition now. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov12
