Handpull, The Baron (JDW), 17/09/13. Good as tar with faint ruby edging and an unmoving cream collar lining the glass. Thick, rich and burnt with a syrupy dried fruit fullness. Nose sticky dark fruits, fruit cake, malt loaf, currants, black cherry and iron. Smooth cocoa powder chocolate and fruit cake; good bitterness, deep cherry and blueberry; burnt wood. Couldn’t leave without having another. Deeply balanced, satisfying and good.
