Dark brown color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, roast, nuts, smoke, and light alcohol. Taste of caramel malts, smoke, roast, light cocoa, raisins, and dry alcohol in the finish.

Pours pitch black with a nose of tobacco and chocolate. Flavor is boozy chocolate syrup and light peat. Thick on the tongue. I wish Walt would bathe in this and let me watch.

tap at the brewpub. deep brown with a cream head. nice peaty smoked malts, and caramel. chewy on the palate, sweet caramel, candied sugar, and a fruity finish.

On tap during the 2012 RateBeer Winter Gathering.
The beer pours a light brown color with a white head. The aroma features a lot of dark fruit, including some cherry and raisin notes. There is also a hint of alcohol and some peat malt notes.
The flavor features a lot of alcohol and peat notes, as well as some nice cherry and other dark fruit notes. There is also quite a bit of toffee and caramel malt in the flavor.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Brown pour with creamy white head and lace. Caramel maltiness, a hinto abv, and some earthy hops. Caramel malt, nice warmth, and good bitter. A tad thin and watery. A good beer.

(Draught) Pours a clear amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, peat, toffee, and caramel. Flavor of caramel, peat, alcohol, and roasted malt.

On tap at Flix. Pours reddish-brown with nice tan head. Aroma of strong toffee, burnt caramel and malt with a great spicy kick to it. Flavor is much the same with a nice sweetness and a well balanced alcohol spice blended in with this malt forward brew. Mouth feel is heavy body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I thought this was an outstanding brew and was very surprised it was that tasty!
