COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer with an identity crisis. It starts life thinking it is Belgian but soon realizes it is destined to be more American after all. A dark red ale that blends a mildly roasty flavor with punchy American hops. The fruity character of the Belgian yeast rounds out the profile to make a beer that orbits mysteriously around the world of existing beer styles. Belgian red IPA? Malt bill: Marris Otter malt, Pilsener Malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt, black malt, flaked barley, sugar. Hops: Nugget, Amarillo, Cascade, Apollo, Columbus

Shaker at the joint- served a solidly 50% turbid with a dark brown and lightened maroon shading, creamy 3 mm head laced nicely all around. Aroma of toffee, caramel, spices, and fruit esters from the yeast. Hits the mouth with a medium body, tasting was just smooth and creamy on the mouth through the whole glass, malt seemed just lightly toasted, finish is full. Not a belgie to style, but damn good though!

(Growler thanks to Walt) clear medium red, thick creamy offwhite head. Nose of candi sugar, a little vegetal, brown sugar, very green, American hops. Taste of American hops, honey/brown sugar, saccharin, fairly hoppy and estery.

Now here’s a beer from flix with some substance. Dark brown with amber tint. A bit hazy. Good signs. The head is a thin dirty ring. The aroma, light danky, wet hop cones. The body is finally full, a feature that has been lacking in flix brews. They must have been catering to the bud light drinkers of round rock but this beer breaks the mold of the smitherings of their other offerings. The flavor is hoppy with a spiced malt backbone. There’s a hint of ginger in the aroma and flavor as well. Most fill and satisfying beer I’ve had at this brewhouse. There’s a bit of anise in the flavor as well, or licorice for those of you unprivileged of schooling.

Red amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, caramel, spices, floral hops, and a bit of grass. Taste of citrus, light pine, some grapefruit, some caramel malts, spicy, and finishing dry.

Clear brown color with tan head. Nice floral, nutty, belgian spice aromas. medium body. Toasty, nutty grain flavors with spicy caramel--not bad.

A pint at Flix. Pours dark amber with a off white head that dissipates quickly. Minimal lacing. This is a pleasantly bitter beer with grapefruit notes from the hops and an overall undertone of tobacco and sourdough. This beer is lightly medium bodied and easy to put down. Solid.

Deep amber pour with a creamy tan head and lace. Aroma if breadiness, B.yeast, and a hinto citrus. Caramel malt, bread, and yeasty. Medium bodied and a tad fizzzy. Pretty good beer.
