COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Also sold as Blanche de Quenast in Dia/Ed supermarkets, as Floreffe Wit for Floreffe Abbey, as Mediterranea for the Italian market, as Blanche de Francorchamps, as t Geheim van de Smit, as Manneken Pis, and as L’Alsacienne Blanche de l’Eté.
Ingredients: Malted barley; wheat (40%); coriander; bitter orange peel; sugar; hops; yeast.
Blanche de Bruxelles owes its natural cloudiness to the large percentage (40 %) of wheat that goes into its composition. The natural spice aromas of coriander and bitter orange peels are added during the brewing process. The brewing method, which includes infusion, is very slow. The beer, which is not filtered, is bottled and refermented with yeast and brewing sugar. You need only take a sip of this delicious drink to appreciate the fresh and mellow flavour with its hint of orange. It is really not like any other beer. Always served chiled, between 3°C and 6°C.

Very light yellow as a colour, cloudy. Head is rich but fades away quickly. Aroma is mild and taste is light with some citrus. Carbonation is average. Works fine with hot summer terraces or after sauna, but you can find so many better hefes that I’m not going to buy this anymore.

Pours a bright lemon yellow with thick frothy egg white head. Aroma is a mix of hay, lemon and wheat. Flavor is a mix of lemon, bitter orange, definite coriander. Body is light and crisp with a lot of carbonation.

Big ol’ can. Nice cloudy pale yellow with a profuse sticky white head. nose has a bright tartness to it upfront, very floral and ephemeral with some green apple and earthy yeast notes. Flavor has a lot more sweetness to it than I care for, more body too. Lightly citrusy with some sourdough character. Bready.

Very cloudy Belgian white with an underpowered malt background providing a sweetish taste(which is decent, definitely enjoyable at the right time) and cloying sweet mouthfeel(definitely not so good). Overall a decent beer for cooling off, nothing to write home about.

Smells like double bubble - quite surprisingly for the look of the bottle. Quite a likeable beer for me - one of the better of the style though I haven’t had many and don’t usually get down with this shiznit. Good carb, aftertaste sours a bit and doesn’t follow through on that initial strange smell. Then again, who wants a beer that tastes like bubblegum. Light on the palate. From the S-A-Q muthafuka...

Purchased at Fox & Obel in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after eating a nice Greek meal with friends. Appearance is a bright cloudy gold with a thin white head. Aroma mostly of yeast, maybe a touch of spice. Taste is also really heavy on the yeast, very light sour notes, bit of lemon. There are definitely better wit beers out there, this one isn’t really that good.

Pours hazy hay color with good head and retention. Aroma is bready pils malt, coriander, orange peel. Taste is orange and coriander, pils breadiness, lingering spicy quenching orange peel. Body is light and effervescent, somewhat sticky on the mid-palate but with a spicy clean finish. Overall, this is a perfectly refreshing, mildly spiced thirst quencher. Perfect with lunch!
