3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Ales and Tails, Twickenham, 04/05/13.
Clear dark amber with a thin off white head.
Nose is a big dose of malt, earthy, slightly musty, a touch metallic, toffee.
Taste comprises dark malts, dark toffee, dark fruits, dates, pinch of tobacco.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, light bitter notes in the finish.
Ok drinkable mild but perhaps carrying a little too much in the way of bitterness to be classed as a mild for me.
