Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’12. Cloudy gold with no head. Highly perfumed beer with quite a sour off note, there is bitterness but the sourness is quite dominating and off putting. Not very good unfortunately.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Florence.
Slightly hazy golden colour with a reasonable white head and lace. Faint white wine note on the nose with a pleasant lick of hops underneath. A fairly straight forward bitter and maybe a little unimaginative in the mouth. But I’ve no real complaints overall. Decent earthy malt base with some light floral hoppage on top. Pleasant bitter finish with a hint of honey. Very easy to drink and in the time it’s taken me to think about it and type this in, I’ve pretty much dealt with my half. Decent but uninspiring.

Cask at the Florence, London on 1st June 2011. Clear amber with white foam and part-lacing. Sweet fruity/caramel aroma. Malt and light hoppiness in-mouth with floral and fruity notes continuing along with some cheesiness. Pleasant lightly saline mouthfeel and a bittersweet lingering finish.

Cask (handpump) @ The Florence, 131 - 133 Dulwich Road, London, England SE24.
Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange, soap. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20081229]

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2008 Draught at the eponymous. Hazy pour with noncommittal head. Smells of detergent, more specifically, those things you used to blow bubbles with. Taste similar at first, replaced with an over-strong bitterness, mellows out to a half-decent finish. Not a bad homebrew, but not a good beer.

Cask at The Cock and Hen Fulham 4 Feb 08. Pale golden colored. A tiny off white head. Strong fruity aroma. Flavor of grapefruit. Dry, fruity aftertaste. Refreshing.

Cask at the Cock & Hen, Fulham. (Note that you don’t have to go to both pubs to sample the two ales!) Quite malty sweet, but a fine resin hoppiness dominates the long lingering finish. Lovely ale.

A very refreshing beer. Decent head with medium body and low carbonation. Great taste with citrus notes. Nice effort from the guys at The Florence.

Grapefruit taste dominates. Frothy dissipating head, quite hopped. Pale amber colour, zero carbonation. light/medium body and mild taste. Simple yet refreshing and rewarding summer beer.
