2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
4/19/2014: Florida Beer Company Devilís Triangle IPA... Aroma: Floral and lightly citrusy with some honey notes and underlying toffee maltiness. Appearance: Hazy/cloudy yellow color with a nice head off light ivory-colored foam. Flavor: Malty, toasted biscuit, earthy hops, and roasted citrus pith, but then there is A LOT of mineral-like flavor thatís weird and out of place; the beer has a decent level of bitterness, but the hop flavors seems to be absent, so itís more of a raw bitterness. Palate: Medium to medium-full (a bit heavy); thicker than expected mouthfeel. Overall: Meh. The hop list would lead me to believe that this was intended to be an American-style IPA, but the malt profile speaks more English-style IPA and everything together is neither and just not very good. 12 fl. oz. bottle from Brian. Thank you! Rating #29 for this beer.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Beer of month club. Pours light, hazy orange. Somewhat faint, but typical, IPA nose. Not well structured. Skips past typical IPA citrus and pine, and goes straight to a very bitter (and lingering) finish. It's drinkable - but with so many better IPAs, will never bother with this one again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
An orange amber body with a white head. Strong citrus hop profile upfront a mild sense of pine hops and caramel malts. Flavor was a bit more bitter than I expected caramel malts came through well too. Decent flavor although two dimensional. A dry finish.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle - Hazy gold with a chunky head and sticky lacing. This has got to be the worst IPA I have ever had. I just canít get past the super dry taste of the inside of a grapefruit. Itís beyond bitter and not in a good way. Has a metallic aftertaste. Terrible.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pour is almost a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is on the fruitier side with a decent citrus. Flavor is minimally hopped with little to no malt backbone. Hops are there just not in your face enough. With some many great IPAís out there this one would be way down the list on ones you have to try.
