COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark as the midnight sea, this medium bodied porter combines flavors from 8 malts, including 4 distinct chocolate malts (Victory, Chocolate, Rye and Midnight Wheat) with fresh nugget and cascade hops that work together to form a harmonious balance of aroma and flavor. Imparting a dry roasted malt character, with subtle hints of cocoa, licorice and toffee, this brew possess a balanced hop spice and malty finish.

Formerly known as Ybor Gold Gaspars Porter

Pours a clear dark brown, almost black, body with a frothy brown head. The nose is chocolaty and sweet with cocoa and sugar. A light roasty note. The flavor is fairly solid, sweet chocolate and coffee with a little burnt roastiness. Minimal to no alcohol notes. Light to medium body with fizzy carbonation. Decent Porter, but not a standout.

Pours a very dark brown with tan head. Coffee, raw dark chocolate, and some anise on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little spice and roasted malt.

Appearance: silky near-black pour, with a couple of millimeters of fizzy dark tan, almost purplish head; lacing is minimal to nonexistent. Aroma: sweet milk chocolate up front, with dark chocolate pudding coming out as it warms, with a tiny hint of coffee and general roast. Taste: VERY chocolatey and sweet, with subdued roast coffee, light vanilla, and a little tiny whisper of soy sauce. Finish: lingering chocolate sweetness, but a light roasty dryness smooths everything out. Notes: Wow, I was really pleasantly surprised by this. Palate was full and silky, but not encroaching into stout territory. Flavors were dominated by the sweet dark chocolate, which was a-ok with me. Nice porter! Bottle at House of Blues in Orlando, Florida.

9/28/2014: Florida Beer Gasparís Porter... This is a delicious, classic robust porter. Itís quite delicious! Well, since I already gave away my conclusion, hereís the details... Opaque, VERY dark brown color with a large, lasting, rocky brown-colored head. The aroma is chocolate malt, which also dominates the flavor. Thatís not to say that the beer is sweet because itís not. It has a really great amount of chocolate malt flavor. Iíd say itís semi-sweet with a touch of nice mineral characteristic in the finish. The body is medium to medium-full and is smooth, silky, and just right. Like I said in the beginning, this is a delicious porter! 12 fl. oz bottle from bnokk. Thank you!

Bottle shared by Keith, pours dark brown. Weak and thin roast, with some light bitter hops and grains along with faint coffee. Not sticky at all. Not my favorite porter to say the least.

Bottle - Nice dark pour with a heavy tan head...and thatís about all the nice things I can say about this beer. It tastes like someone emptied an ashtray in this thing. Awful taste.

This seems to be quite a generic porter. I like porters, so I guess thatís a good thing. The aroma has a hint of coffee. The flavors are a mix of dark chocolate, cherries, and coffee.
