Dark as the midnight sea, this medium bodied porter combines flavors from 8 malts, including 4 distinct chocolate malts (Victory, Chocolate, Rye and Midnight Wheat) with fresh nugget and cascade hops that work together to form a harmonious balance of aroma and flavor. Imparting a dry roasted malt character, with subtle hints of cocoa, licorice and toffee, this brew possess a balanced hop spice and malty finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown/black with a light tan head. Some lacing. Light aroma of roast coffee and dark chocolate. Medium mouthfeel. Dark fruit and roast in the flavor with a slight bitter dark chocolate ending. Not bad.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2013 roasted malt on the nose. hints of chocolate and cocoa. dark liquid with a frothy brown head. it is as described, dark as midnight. medium sweetness, lightly sour, with a very fruity after taste. light body, thin feel, fizzy, and ends with fruit. i get more fruit than roast-ness. itís good tasting, but not what i expected for a "robust porter," and not really what i was seeking, which reflects in my "taste" and "overall" scoring. otherwise itís fair and i really dig the label art. (the more i drank this, the less i enjoyed it. i will NOT buy this again, especially for $10 a six-pack! i probably will NOT finish the 4 remaining beers.)

Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. Pours a very, very dark brown with a tannish head. Aroma has roast, dark chocolate and expresso with a bit of a strange "fishy"ness. Taste is of roasted malts, sweet caramel, some chocolate and faint coffee. A bit thin for a porter, but with nice taste.

Pours an opaque brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tan head that dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Taste follows with a hint of soy on the back end, bitter finish. Good stuff, easy to drink.

A surprisingly very good Porter. Toffee, coffee, chocolate and just little bit of a hop taste. Quite refreshing! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This says Florida Beer Gasparís Porter...no where Ybor, although I know it was at one time around. Beer poured from bottle very dark, with gourgeous beige head. Aroma is of toasted coffee, with maybe a back of chocolate. Very nice appearance and inviting. This is a medium flavored porter...not overpowering, but very nice all the same.

Not Ybor Gold, but Florida Beer with a mustachioed man on a purple label. Dark cola colored brew with a slightly off-white head. Aromas of toasted grains and coffee. Tastes of burnt grains, bitter/dark coffee, and some smoky bitterness. Dry, chalky finish. Taste is solid, just a bit bitter. Good beer.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 Single bottle. Bottled as Florida Beer, no mention of Ybor Gold. Dark brown pour with a small, soapy khaki head. Aroma of coffee grounds and toffee. Taste is mostly coffee, a little cola, slightly bitter finish. Pretty by-the-numbers porter, typical Florida Beer - good enough but nothing special.
