3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is about 80% water, 10% frudge brownie, 10% mild hops...I guess that sounds bad, but actually it balances nicely. There is nothing acidic, roasty, mocha or otherwise offensive to my mostly non-porter palate.

Oh boy. Beer without head. Wtf good is that? Aroma has a decent hop thing going along with a nice cocoa powder. Taste is a bit thin bodied but a nice hop bitterness and a good chocolate taste.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Deep red color with no head a little carbonation. Smells of cold coffee with some notes of amaretto and chicory. Tastes pleasantly burnt, with coffee and caramel and finishes slightly astringent. Weak for a porter

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a dark ruby brown with a small head. Flavor is mostly roasted coffee, some bittersweet chocolate and some light smoke. Body is a little thin, but this is a nice brew.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured lighter brown than most porters. Aroma was faint but malted chocolate was there. Flavor was smooth but lacking in complexity. Palate was harmed by over carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2006 This pours a nutty, dark brown color with a creamy light brown head and (initially) lively carbonation. The aroma is very mild, roast coffee and chocolate. Very smooth, mild-bodied drink. It tastes chocolatey with coffee and a nice balance of not-too-bitter hops.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2007 Bottle. Very little aroma what i could detect was like alcohol covered mildewed hay. Poured a rich dark brown that fell short of being black. Chocolate and coffee taste is abundant. Actually tastes real good. Thin, but no thinner than Bert Grant’s in fact it is somewhat similar and that surprised me cause I really like Bert Grant’s even though it too is on the thin side.
Pretty nice flavorwise, but the mouthfeel is more like the "ale" it used to be named.

Aful porter that is truly inspired. It has a nice body, a mild yet distinctive taste & is good with anything edible!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nothing special. A bit weak for a true porter - as some of the previous reviewers have noted. I’d drink it again, but I definitely wouldn’t seek it out.
