COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Firsthand accounts describe an intense beast with a potent aroma and bite. Proof that the elusive monster exists? Or proof that brewing with five distinct varieties of hops creates an unbelievable, relentlessly hopped India Pale Ale? One taste and you’ll know, Swamp Ape is for real.

Not gonna lie, those okie-finokies know what they’re doing. Plenty of hops with a sweet punch in the mouth at the end, highly recommended and currently in my top 5.

Golden in the glass. The beer is sweet. Very sweet and nicely hopped. Nice floral, but way too sweet. The aftertaste is sticky sweet and floral. --> Way too sweet in the body! --> 9/8/9/8

bottle. One of the best Imperial IPA’s I’ve had. Intense hops, well masked alcohol and big citrus - all incredibly balanced. Bummed I only had one. This is a phenomenal beer!

12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized white head. Citrus, some fruitiness, toasty, and lighter caramel. Alcohol content well hidden.

From a bottle. Pours hazy copper gold with a frothy white head and decent lacing. Tastes sweet, nutty, like strong alcohol, dry pine, grapefruit. Medium body and light carbonation. Smells like sweet raisins, toasted grains, biscuits, grassy.

sonnycheeba (3042) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2014
Bottle. Pours mostly clear golden amber with creamy white head. Aroma is bready and cereal malts, floral notes, light candy sugar, light tropical fruit, and faint toast. Flavor is dry malt base with floral hop bitterness, light grassiness, light fruit esters, and faint toast; semisweet finish with some lingering bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours amber. Really sharp bite and skunky and smoky aroma. Not sure I’d get this one again - just too overpowering.

From a bottle to a pint... Hazy gold with bubbly white head that fades immediately. Some sweet malt and pine resin on nose and palate. Very bitter finish... Meh.

Pours golden orange a bit hazy with a white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and a bit perfumey but not in a bad way. Flavor brings the hop perfume up TNT and all over, not smooth or pleasant like on the nose.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2014 12 oz bottle 1/25/14 (Gas Station)-Pours an amberish orange with a tan head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of citrus, pine, and malt. This full bodied brew is not too shabby.
