3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Eric and served in my GI IPA Tulip: Pours a clean deep golden/amber hue with an good head and some lace. The aroma smacks your alpha up with raw, rough and aggressive bittering hops and provides light tropical and apricot jammy fruit notes. Moderately dank, resiny and must I saw SWAMPY :-). Very light vapours of cotton candy, crystal and 6-row malts. Some pepper and clove esters too. The taste is almost as sharp and aggressive as the nose, very biting bitterness with dank earthy notes and plenty of hop spice undertones. A tad unbalanced and after half the bottle got to be a tad boring. No real malt character, just a lot of unfermented sugars. The mouth feel is pretty heavy for the genre, and as mentioned above quite aggressive with a heavy metallic and minerally finish. Must saw I have no desire to ever visit this one again but it was cool to try it once.<more akin to a sub-average American Barleywine than a DIPA>

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
FROM NOTES: August 12, ’12.
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip.
A: Malty and piney, not much depth here.
A: Pours a brilliant medium gold with about an inch of head that dissipates at a fairly moderate pace and never seems to completely go away.
T: Very sweet, some malt, and bitterness. Not a complicated beer, and far too sweet, IMO.
P: Medium bodied, thick and sticky. Finish is sweet and sticky with the same sweet taste lingering.
O: It could be worse, but there’s really just very little going on other than the sweetness.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle->SA. Clear lite copper with 1 inch frothy white head. A: stale hops, herbs, grass, wet hay. Not good. T: bittersweet, with spicy malt and floral hops. Moderate carbonation, thin fizzy finish. Lingering bittersweet boozy aftertaste becomes unpleasant. AP.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer has been reviewed by many others so I'm not going to break it down in typical fashion - this has already been done ad-nauseum. I would just like to say thay I do not feel it has been represented here entirely fairly. While I would admit that it should rate only fair AS AN IMPERIAL IPA, I do find it to be a very drinkable beer and I would certainly encourage anyone to sample it for yourself. I say this as a tried and true Imperial IPA fan (my favorite style). Perhaps one should take it in the spirit of Florida as a hot weather brew which perhaps should sacrifice a little purity of 'type' for drinkability. As a final note, I've drank this from tap in Florida and remember it as being better than the bottled version.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a clear burnt orange color, one finger of off-white creamy head, settles to a thin ring. Smell is sweet, caramel malt with some brown sugar and sweaty orange flavored hops. The taste is sweet and malty up front with some bitterness from the hops in the finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Aroma of light floral hops. Medium/light body with malt notes and an astringent hop bitterness including resinous and earthy hops. One of the worst double IPAs I’ve had.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Rich deep amber with a persistent small head, bands of lace. Taste is confusing - there is some malt, but there is also an odd flavor of stale sweet dough. Combine that with understated hops and mild alcohol, and it becomes somewhat undrinkable. Surprising that in a brew that has a high abv, so little else is delivered. Not recommended.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear deep golden. Aroma of stale hops and lots of malt, a bit cookie-ish. Sweet malty caramelly flavor, a bit cookie-ish, with a bitter and slightly alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied, a bit heavy. Seems old.

12 ounce thanks to BMMillsy. Malty with big fruit tones. Pretty sweet. Nothing stands out too much overall, though. Not sure of bottle age.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear deep golden color with a small off white head.
Light fruity hop aroma with caramel and faint floral notes.
Sweet and a bit cloying malt flavors, alcohol, hi bitterness and some marmalade. Full bodied, heavy and not very pleasant.
