2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 PriorL (255) - BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2013
Appearance: normal looking head.
Nose: don’t get much more out than just plain passion fruit.
Taste: lots of passion fruit again, sweetness, doesn’t remind me of beer in any way... though drinkable.
I notice some sourness in it? don’t know if it was intended like that... probably from the passion fruit.
But because of this sourness, I like it more than other of the Floris beers...

Bottle- a big passionfruit aroma and passionfruit flavour. A good fruit beer, but you couldn’t drink many of them
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jonno (2001) - JAPAN - AUG 14, 2012
It is exactly as advertised - strong on the passionfruit, little beeriness and a a sweet finish. Easy to drink, but not enticing or complex in any shape or form.
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 bartlebier (452) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - AUG 1, 2012
Malty sirup negatively enhanced with artificial passion fruit aroma. A disgrace to brouwerij Huyghe and a sticky hubba-bubba blotch on the blazoon of Belgian fruit beer culture. - Do yourself a favour an pour a Mort Subite lambic in your brand of choice juice instead. Even worse: cf. Floris chocolate and Apple.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 bytemesis (1407) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Bottle. Pours pale pinkish amber, hazy and full of particles, medium pink-white fizzy head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. Aroma and taste are pure passionfruit through and through, including the sweet and sour notes. This is ok, mainly because I like passionfruit, but it is not really a beer in my opinion, more like a malt beverage.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2012
June 2010: 330ml brown bottle with purple labels and purple foil around the neck, bought as a joke by a friend. The bottle was poured into a ’Corsendonk’ stemmed tulip glass.
Looked lagerish, or a pale English bitter in colour, the head however was off-white, not the pure snow of a lager.
The label says passion and that is what you get, in the nose anyway, loads of it. Nothing else can get through the aroma of passion fruit, good job I like the smell.
Guess what it tastes of? Yip, passion fruit, very sweet up front, then a sourness hits you almost straight away after the initial sip. The sourness is lemon and lime flavour and stays in the mouth long after the first hints of sweetness have departed. Then slowly a semi-sickly feeling appears from the mouthfeel, very strange and not too pleasant. Add cooking apples into the flavour mix and you have just about got the measure of the tastes it gives off.
Different for sure, but not a beer I’ll be trying again, nor offering friends. I can’t really knock the beer, it is what it claims to be, a beer flavoured with passion fruit, most likely syrup enhanced, but who am I to say that is wrong?
