2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 kiwianer (730) - Mönchengladbach, GERMANY - MAY 6, 2012
The head is white, but not very robust. The body has a yellow-brown and cloudy body. There are bigger yeast pieces swimming in the beer. It smells fruity and yeasty. It smells fruity, sweet but also alcoholic, herb and a little bit metallic.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2012
Dec 2009: Cork and Caged 0.75 litre brown bottle produced for the Delhaize Supermarket chain, this one was bought from their store in De Panne, close to ’Plopsaland’.
Poured into four tulip glasses in one pour. Each glass had a slight haze, the sediment stayed mostly in the bottle. True blond in colour and with the normal snow white head.
Yeast and hops with a sweet and sour (apples?) aroma from the brew.
The bottle had a life until 14 May 2011, so it was young when comsummed (28th Dec 09). Fizzy, crisp and refreshing, but with very little body, flavour or substance. If it had been allowed to age a little it might have been better, but I doubt it.
Cheap supermarket beer, the 7% isn’t detectable and the beer was frankly watery.

330 ml bottle. From Belgium. Courtesy of Brandman.
Cloudy pale golden colour with small to average size creamy white head.
Fruity hoppy aroma with some sweetness and Belgian yeast.
Unpleasant boozy flavour with harsh hops. Tastes unfinished. All good qualities of Belgian Blond are missing. Real trashy Blond. Disappointment.

Bottle, bought @ AD Delhaize, Brussels.
Pours a nice, orange golden with a medium, staying, frothy, white head. Aroma is sweet, oranges, red apples, malts, sugar, melons, esters. High carbonation, dryish and fine mouthfeel that is slightly watery. Flavour is mild metallic, some good fruity sweetness, apples, oranges and again this melon note. Mild earthy and flowery bitterness. Mild sugary. A fine beer.
