Abbey beer for the Delhaize supermarkets since 1994 and originally an alias of Affligem Dubbel, but since I’m not sure this is still the case today, I’ll rate it anyway. Tasted many years ago from a 75 cl bottle. Dark brown beer with medium, off-white head and malty, bready and fruity taste, sweetish with a sourish touch, hint of iron, medium carbo, bitterish, herbally hoppy finish. Average.

Abundant foam top with small sized bubbles. Classy blood red colour. If this beer was a person it would be a shy character in the light weight category. Hints of cherry. I had low expectations since it’s brewed by a big retail group. A light beer which can be drunk extensively.

Voor een bier van een supermarkt echt een meevaller, net als de blonde en de tripel

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Barley Legal Tasting Room. Thaks to Kraddel! Dark mahogany, creamy tanned head. Smell is very chemical, paint, varnish, sweet metal etc. Taste is chemical, paint mixed with nasty very sweet brown sugar & leaves. Thin, paint-like, pretty awful.

Grima (2154) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - SEP 25, 2013
Bottle from Auchan Market, Luxembourg City!
Pours copper colored, brownish, with lots of yeast particles floating around. Foam is fine-pored and flat. Smells yeasty-sweetish with some roasted malts and sweet caramel notes. Starts with some nutty malts, roasted malts, lots of caramel and toffee, as well as some belgian yeast flavor. Middle part has more yeast flavor, slight sweet-fruity, paired with dark roasted malts and some chocolate. Goes into a yeasty and roasty finish with sweet fruity notes and some caramel.
