Test vom 28.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Koelschtrinker (6546) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2011
Malzig-herber Geruch. Kein Highlight! Test vom 24.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,7,8,9,8 - 8,05

33cl bottle. Pours amber with a thick beige head. Dried dates and figs on the nose, sweet and slightly bready. Full bodied, malty and spicey with a hoppy faintly peppery aftertaste.

Bottle, pours deep amber with a nice tall beige head, looks great. Aroma is of alcohol and spices. I also get a little bit of fruit in the nose. Smells like it’s going to be good!! First sip, wow, dark candied sugar, a little bit of sweetness and a dry bitter finish. The mouth fades from light and crisp to slightly creamy. A few more and I’m liking this, the 9 percent is masked well behind some wonderfull dark flavors. I’m glad this time of year is here because these kind of beers are special.
