Draft: Pours dark yellow with a tiny white head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, brandy. Taste is sweet, sticky, fruit....vanilla, booze. Fairly hot alcohol notes...a little burn..... Very well crafted.

Draft. Vanilla, oak, and apple brandy aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet vanilla, oak, and brancy flavor. Pleasant but very boozy - definitely a sipper.

Draft @ brewery. Heavy oak, vanilla, and sweet apple brandy aroma. Clear light copper with a minimal white head. Fruity sweet apple, oak, vanilla, and boozy brandy flavor. Medium, hot boozy body.

Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). I almost forgot about these with the phone dying.. got a few more to add. Pours a blonde golden hue, gentle haze, frothy head. Aromas show some strong barrel presence, oak and spirit mix, vanilla, whiskey, some bread, toasted coconut, and gentle fruity elements. Initial is medium bodied, a bit thin. The barrel has ravaged this beer, it doing it’s best to stand up. Bigger spirit, vanilla and whiskey. Oak, tannic, with some gentle bready malts, flaked wheat, gentle estery fruit as it warms in the middle. Banana, apple, and some gentle pear. Touches of spice, yeast, and a dry heated backend finish this one off. I remember this beer, it was big.. but the barrel did it due time and then some. A bit big and hot for most, but it certainly isn’t a bad beer. Not bad. Good display of barrel but not necessarily too overdone. Ok.
