COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lighter version of the great scotch ales, this representation we intended those great scotch whiskeys. We used a small amount of malt smoked over peat and aged this copper colored beer in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels, which created a great blend of a caramel malt body, earthy aromas and flavors and a touch of whiskey.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry scotch notes with some distinctive peat notes with very little residual sugar notes. Taste is quiet dryer then I had expected with some peat notes with light smoke and some scotch notes with light barley notes. Body is lighter then expected with super great carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Quite different then what I was expecting with loads of attenuation and almost no residual sugar. I could see myself drinking this on a semi-periodic basis.

Decent ba scotch ale here, aged in bourbon which is weird, slight smokiness. Its decent.

A hazy copper pour with an off-white head. Nose is banana, sugar, bourbon, and vanilla. Fairly heavy on the peat, a bit of soap, caramel, and charred oak. The flavor has a strong sweetness of caramel, vanilla, banana, and brown sugar. Some decent bourbon flavor, charred oak, peat, and soap. Not my favorite example of the style.

22oz bomber courtesy of noodleuser. Sort of an odd example, light golden peat smoked malt. Astringent soapy smoked taste. Not biting alcohol, but kind of harsh. Different.

Bottle shared by noodleuser: pours a clear bright golden with a stringy lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty malty nose with lots of scotch and peat. Body starts with a light malty sweetness and a fair amount of buttery oak and mild alcoholic warmth before a drier earthy finish.

Bottle. Cloudy orange yellow color, small white head. Aroma of vanilla and subtle whisky. Taste is boozy (but in a nice way).

651mL thanks to noodleuser. Pours a full haze deep orange. Medium yellow head. Nose is heavy tomato and wet cardboard. Taste is spicy, cloying, dense, papery. Boozy. Very sharp and aggressive paper and chemical bitterness. Ick. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a cloudy medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was toffee, caramel, peated mlat, and bourbon. Flavor had some dark fruits, melded well with light smoke and rich caramel. The bourbon certainly blended well with the scotch ale characteristics in this one.

What an aroma. It taste as good as it smells. The scent makes me believe it has been barrel aged. The taste has a kick but overall I am impressed by how the flavor balances out to meet the alcohol content. This brew is by far under rated. Its one of the best scotch ales I have tried. The flavor & quality of ingredients are delightful.
