On tap sampler at the restaurant from February---dark amber color with no head. The aroma was toffee with a touch of citrus. Thin flavoring of citrus without much caramel or toffee.

Deep amber bodied with a respectable head and good lacework, this ale had an aroma of light stone fruits and a touch of the citrus. The flavor was sooftly grainy but heavy on citrus fruit with a zesty bitterness. Nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange amber with an off-white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has notes of sweet grain, light fruit and a bit of backing toffee. Flavor starts with light citrus, sweet grains snd toffee with a hint of spice.

Pour on tap at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Last leg of the Michigan Birthday Run. Pours a rich roasty auburn amber hue, glowing well with rich hues. A frothy offwhite head dies yet laces well. Aromas are apple cider, touches of spicy yeast, mellow bread, belgian candi sugar is mellow, touches of gentle sweeter caramel. Initial is medium bodied, a bit bland, with gentle sugar, caramel, and fruit. Apple, toffee, yeast. Middle offers gentle sweetness. Finish, a touch dry and spicy, mellow sweet malts. Lacks complexity but a firm beer overall. A bit sweet, not sessionable but close. Odd. Tasty, well put together but a bit sweet overall.
