Attractive aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, butter, and subdued spices. Nice. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild to moderate roasty bitterness. Great roasted malt and chocolate flavors pushed the pumpkin into the background a bit along with the subdued spices. Very well done pumpkin beer. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA

Aroma is of roasted malt, spice, sharp coffee, and of course pumpkin. Taste is amazing. Huge taste of roasted malt, spice, pumpkin spice, and dark fruit all with a nice coffee bite underneath. Very big presence of alcohol, that warms long after each sip. There is a lot going on in this beer, but it is very well balanced. Very creamy mouthfeel. Delicous, but not a beer I could have several glasses of due to alcohol and rich coffee taste. More of a tasty sipper. DrnkMcDermott (1873), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA

If you want to keep up your reputation as a beer geek, get down to Flossmoor NOW and drink this thing! A solid black beer with a thin yet spongy foam that clears up as I write these notes. Big smell of pumpkin pie spice. Taste throws honkin’ chocolate in, until the whole things comes out like some crazy South American cordial that’s found only in the back of an exclusive hotel’s bar. Caraway hints remind me of a little kvas. Even though it’s not quite a big beer, the experience is somewhat heady. I’m finally reminded of its big porter base near the finish. dm9831 (1168), Monee, Illinois, USA

Pours black like and imperial stout, with a light brown head. Nose is spiced and smoky. Taste is rich and full of pumpkin and smoke and some burnt wood. This is a big muther of a beer, and I gotta say as much as I like it I can’t wait to see what my girlfriend will say. She likes it she is a smoked beer freak and this is complex and fun with lots of character. Nice brew overall, glad to have tried it. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2008 On tap at Flossmoor Station and served in a shaker. This beer poured near black with a bit of light shining through the edges. A large head of dark tan foam slowly settled, then lingered for the entire glass. Not much lacing. The aroma included toasted pumpkin, pie spices, and chocolate. The flavor consisted of rich chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. No trace of alcohol. Very evenly spiced and not too sweet. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and was lightly carbonated. An excellent beer! Perfect for the Fall weather. BBB63 (4283), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Tap: Nearly opaque with a small fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, walnut, roasted grains, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, grassy hops and some pumpkin. WOW, nice balance of the porter flavors and the added spices. The roast shines through and the hit of nutmeg is just right, really works well together. Dry finish with a touch of allspice. The mouth feel is quite smooth and easy to drink. Well played Matt, a spiced Porter that does not go to extremes.
