Bottle shared by Phaleslu. Thanks Peter! Pours dark amber with a very light off white head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oak and caramel malts. Flavor is big on the bourbon. Has hints of vanilla, oak and a bit of rye. Medium bodied with a nice sweet finish. This was an awesome beer.

Thanks to Sarlacc83 for sharing this barleywine - Pours bronze / brown with a small off-white head. The aroma has lots of dark caramel, red fruits, licorice and cherries that are lush, but a bit biting. It has a medium / full rich body with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor begins with alcohol heat, caramel, brown sugar, lots of dark fruits, oak, graininess and rough earthiness. The finish is warm and that works for it. Solid barleywine.

Bottle, batch 2 sent by agold. Thanks! Been a long time want; rating 1000! A: Cloudy brown color, thin creme colored head. Lacing. N: Red licorice, cherry, caramel, caraway, bourbon, vanilla, esters, burnt brown sugar, and some rye. T: Very, very sweet, little to no bitterness. Nearly becomes cloying, but not quite. M: Sticky, thick body. Alcohol is prevalent, but not overwhelming. O: An excellent barleywine. Far superior to MoaS, but I did like Termination Dust a mite more. Would love more bottles of this one, though.

Bottle shared by "sarlacc83". Thank you Luke! Colour...dark amber brown with a thin head. Nose...loads of dark fruits, sweet spice and Bourbon goodness. Palate...dry, oaky and tannic with massive Bourbon notes and delightfully sweet spicy notes from the rye. This is slightly cloying but the dryness helps balance the sweet. Boiled fruit sweets and fruitcake enter at the back of the palate along with dark amber birch syrup and scottish toffee. The finish is long, boozy and dry.

bottle in a trade thanks to jeff! shared with a friend. poured a dark murky brown colour with a small off coloured head. aroma starts with sweet caramel, fudge, chocolate, almond, coconut, butterscotsch, sweet complex bourbon, vanilla, oak, some deep dried fruits, plums, rye, bread, sweet malts, realy nice mouthfeel, full bodied, rainsins, nice and full smooth mouthfeel, rye spices, just delicious!! very well hidden alcohol, just one hell of a sipping beer. loved it in every way. compared it to the mother of all storms 2010, since this one has the same age. I like this one a bit less with a 0,1 score. one of the best BA barleywines i’ve had. really deserves a way higher rating as where it is now. delicious stuff!!

Bottle cheers to Rob. Pours a dirty Amber with a dirty beige head. Nose is loaded with rye and sweet vanilla. Comes across very oak driven with loads and loads of dirty earth. It’s different. Not everyone at the table liked it but it’s my kind of thing - big and not restrained. The taste is all about the earthiness of the rye with the huge oak this beer shows. Massive vanilla and spice behind it. The palate is really quite creamy and sticky but the bitterness and spice of the rye bring it to a fantastic finish. No sign of the ABV. An absolute top draw BW

(Bottle) Pours hazy deep reddish brown with a nougat coloured head. The aroma holds deep tones of creamy caramel, dried prunes, sticky raisins, aggressive oak (vanilla, coconut and wood shop), spicy rye (almost minty bubblegum-ish), bread and hops with a couple of years on the neck (in the bottle). The flavour is medium to heavily sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of dried fruits, fat caramel, bubblegum-ish rye, extreme white American oak, and resinous/earthy hops. The mouthfeel fat, creamy and numbing with a light to medium carbonation. Fat finish. Near full bodied.
