Draft. First impression is a big boquet o' bananas, which can turn me off. But There's also a coppery, cloudy body and a thin, lacy head. A very tasty caramel roast malt note. The usual German hop profile balances enough to cancel itself out. A nice soft citrusy wheat texture makes this very enjoyable and easy to sip as a session beer. Note: Matt put this beer up as a baseball theme, along with "Pale Hose Pale." I only had this Cubby-themed beer first because the server said this was running low. There's no curse, no goat, no ball... the Cubs just s**k.

On tap at the BBB in Augusta: Rich dark golden color with a thick off-white head. Heavy caramel sweet and wheaty aroma leads into a complex yeasty body with good sweet malty balance. Finishes with black pepper and citrus spice. A very good weizenbock that's just a step below Aventinus, but with some aging, who knows...

Wow. This is an amazing Weizen Bock. It's got everything that a good hefeweizen and then doubled. There's more banana (but not overripe or out of control). There's more clove (but not overwhelming). There's most wheat flavor. There's more creaminess in the body. It even manages to retain some of the refreshing citrus qualities and even manages to keep a little lightness compared to its size that make this a surprising beer.

This was so tasty, especially on a hot day such as, the Saturday of the Border Beer Bust. Full of yeasty notes, the aroma is full of bananas. The appearance is very cloudy and unfiltered, and slightly darker than I expected. This is the perfect summer session beer. Perfectly balanced. The flavor is rich and creamy, and just tangy and citrusy enough to quench your thirst, lots of clove and banana with a malt character to back it up. A good solid choice.
