Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 27, 2008 GABF 2007. An unclear pale golden beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is acidic with strong notes of raspberries as well as light notes of wood. The flavor has a sharp acidity with notes of newly picked raspberries. Very refreshing. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 04/27/2007

argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Oct 4, 2005 (GABF05) Crystal clear light amber body with off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, raspberry, vanilla, cognac. Taste is moderately sweet, raspberry, some cognac, light oak. Medium body, fairly tart but not very sour. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 17, 2005 Dull decaying copper, almost headless. Funkily blended oak, red grapes, powdered raspberries and earthy vegetal aspects form a rather atypical nose. It grows a fair bit of sweetness in mouth, becoming pie-like, yet remaining fresh and juicy. Good level of astringency accentuates the vinous character. Quite interesting that, I’m growing an appreciation for those belgians aged in wine barrels. In this particular case, the barrel really imparts its oldish tannins, if not all the acidity I’d wish for. Light-medium bodied, sparkling carbonation. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 16, 2007 On tap at the 2007 GABF: Hazy bronze pour has a frothy dark tan head. Aroma is bursting with great fresh tart raspberries seed character. Body has good light sweetness and fresh, tart fruity raspberry balance toward a crisp, dry finish with some oaky complexity. A very nice and true to style fruit/sour ale.
