COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of aromatic rye and a whisper of Orange Blossom honey, our Gandy Dancer is light and sparkling, yet full of flavor. The addition of three varieties of hops guarantees an inviting and complex taste, proving that lighter beers can have character.

Objectively speaking: A remarkably and surprising honey ale that excels at flavour extraction and balancing its sweetness.
I like: Certainly sweet with its generous honey splashes, but other components come into play to balance it all. First, there is the cerealic rye profile which comforts the sweetness with complexity and richness. And then there is the juicy fruitiness. Spiciness also provides an illusion of dryness. Very tasty, full-bodied. Superb malt extraction brings forth luscious peaches notes. Soft carbonation, although very bright.
I dislike: Exquisite experimental ale.

I get no hints of honey here. Tastes more like a standard extra pale ale with hoppy notes and average color.

At the brewpub. Decent stuff, amber color. A bit sweet. Not as outstanding as some of the other beers from Flossmoor. Serving: Tap

Apr 27, tap@Flossmoore Sration. Pours clear copper amber with a small off white head leaving nice lace. Aroma has a touch of honey, fruits, hay and pine. Lean hoppy mouthfeel. Flavor is acidy, fruity, perry, good bitterness, and some sweetness. Finishes longlived bitter with nice pungeant aftertaste.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a moderatly light golden color with a thin white head. Not much lacing. Nose is honey bread plus some very faint hops. Taste is mildly sweet without much else. Feel is pretty light. Pretty tame, but I’m judging this more as a blonde than an APA. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-10-2010

On tab at the brew pub. Pours light clear copper with some really nice lacing and retention...The aroma is is all honey, but still light. The honey has a bitterness to it which is unique. A new aroma I’ve yet to come across, bitter honey...The taste is really disappointing as all the honey on the front is gone and replaced by very bitter hops. I didn’t want as much honey in taste as the aroma but I wanted a little sweetness to start this off and match my expecations. To go from sweet thinking to a very bitter taste is just not right. A pale not worthy of trying.

At Flossmoor Station on Sunday. Copper color, with no head or lacing. It had a very faint hops aroma, with a funky but pleasant hops tatste. Some buttery notes present. Unique.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear pale amber color with a medium off-white head that bubbles away steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of honey and mildly spicy rye. Light body with flavors of mild hops, sweet honey and malt, and a bit of spice. The finish is light and sweet with a malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

About the same color as wild flower honey w/ a small white head, this is a reasonably attractive beer. Mild nose is slightly floral and hoppy. The balance of malt sweetness to bitterness is right on. This is easy drinking if unexceptional. It does well as a summer thirst quencher.

Medium light brown with a thin filmy head. Definite rye aroma. Would be great with onion rings or anything fried.
