Draft on tap at the Mug Club Appreciation Night (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a dark reddish brown hue, murky aand well hazed. A big frothy tannish brown khaki head stays huge, laces well. Aromas are big Bourbon spirit, oaky vanilla, heat. Some toffee and caramel, biscuits and bread with a touch of fruity Belgian yeast clinging on, pear and banana esters linger. Initial is big on barrel presence, warming spirit, vanilla tannins, bourbon, biscuits and toffee behind, grainy bread, touches of fruity yeast, faint spice. Quite mellow past the initial, evolving into a warming winter brew, decent malt body, some underlying yeast, deadened hops. Don’t get me wrong, the barrel steals the show both on aroma and up front, but the beer is palateable but warm. Dangerously so. A bourbon lover’s friend and a wonderful display of barrel with some nuances from the base that support it fairly well

hazy copper color, tiny off white bubbles for a head, lacy. nose of fruity belgian yeast with floral notes. flavor is belgian yeast with lots of woody notes and a touch of caramel. medium bodied, clean finish. lots of wood and hints of alcohol are on this sleigh.
