We wanted to brew an ale reminiscent of the real ales of the UK; rich in flavor, refreshing, and a low gravity meant to enjoy during the work day or throughout the evening. Armed with loads of caramel malts and fruity English hops, I feel pleased that we hit our mark introducing our Hammersmith Pub Ale

Itís essentially a Sam Adams clone, wasnít overly impressed.A touch fruitier and there is an off flavor, canít pinpoint it,soapy or papery (I think) very slight but itís there.Oxidized or ... At any rate, for the same beer done to perfection just go buy the Boston Ale.

On tap at Park Tavern in Rosemont. Pours dark hazy brownish amber with light tan head. Aromas of caramel malts, light grassy hops, touch of fruit and citrus as well. Flavors of caramel, bready malts, toffee, and grassy hops. Nice body for such a low abv beer. Nice mild.

Sampled at GABF. Pours a hazy amber with some off white head. Mild, earthy nose, malt, light citrus. Grassy, herbal on the tongue, malty, sweet. Medium bodied, lightly sweet finish. A bit too light.

GABF. Amber pour, whitish head. Aroma is very bready at first, leads into a spicy hop aroma and some herbal and yeasty notes. Flavor is a mix of light hops and light malts. Easy to drink for sure, and quite tasty for such a low ABV.

On draft at Flossmoor, poured a light amber color aromas of light nuts, bread, and grain. Flavor follows suit, nothing special, but decent.

Draft on tap at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Small draft on tap after our food tasting. Pours a richly hazed amber pour, darker and almost a bit murky. Some amber glow and fiery gold glow on the bottom, frothy almost nutty head sticks around as a firm layer, laces pretty well. Aromas are gentle bready malts, straw, grass. Touches of apple, faint mellow yeast, touch of cinnamon spice. Mellow bread, kiss of dry earthy hops. Initial is lighter bodied, offering some gentle bready malts, straw, grain. A kiss of girthy darker quality, dry earthy hops, some mellow yeasty spice. A bit bland, mellow. Faint fruity quality, dry bready malts and straw, gentle grass, kisses of citrusy lemon, faint orange into the backend. Simple, easily quaffable. Certainly a firm session ale. If a bit simple and forgettable.
