This has a really strong alcohol nose. It comes through much milder in the palate and makes for a nice biting taste.

Deep amber brew with some white head. Lots of rye in the nose with caramel and toffee. Rye dominates the flavor as well with grapefruit and caramel malt.

Bottle thanks to Dmac for sharing. Pours out a nice copper color with a small whispy off white head. Aroma is of rye, spices, caraway, caramel malts and light alcohol. Taste is grainy, with rye, caraway, caramel, light earth, some spice and a bit of a warming alcohol note on the finish. Interesting brew.

Bottle via trade with TheAlum, thanks man. Poured a super deep amber/muddy brown body underneath a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, rye seeds, bread and candy. Nice fuller body with small bubbly tight carbonation. Flavor is nice with a slight hint of rye towards the end, initial flavor is far more sweet with notes of candy, caramel, toffee, bread and a dry finish. Good stuff.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Damico (1402) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2012
Pours clean amber with a small white head. The aroma is light sweet malts, not overpowering at all like the BA version. The flavor is light sweet malts as well, with not bite or resiny sweetness for such a high ABV, making it very smooth for my palate. The body is lighter as well which helps, overall decent.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 arkurzynski (848) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Bottle thanks to motortoddhead. Deep orange/brown/red in color with off-white head. Slightly hazy. Deep passion fruit, citrus, spicy rye, toasted bread, light caramel in the nose. Ultra-smooth citrus, rye spice, and caramel with baked bread, biscuit, toasted malt in the finish. Light hopping throughout, mostly citrus/grapefruit. Most apparent in mid-flavor and finish. Slightly creamy and lighter than expected on the palate. Melding of flavors and pure smoothness make up for this.
