COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our "Hi-Fi Rye" is brewed with almost 60% malted rye to give this beer a very rich and intense maltiness. The American hop varieties used impart complex citric, spicy, earthy notes, and combine to amplify the rye character. The tradition of the barley wine-style ale is carried out with this ode in rye. Cheers!

Bottle thanks to Dmac for sharing. Pours out a nice copper color with a small whispy off white head. Aroma is of rye, spices, caraway, caramel malts and light alcohol. Taste is grainy, with rye, caraway, caramel, light earth, some spice and a bit of a warming alcohol note on the finish. Interesting brew.

2/25/12. Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Hazy amber pour with a very small ring of khaki head. Sweet caramel aroma with brown sugar and slight fruitiness. Richer, sweeter flavor with more sugar and fruits. Nice!

Bottle via trade with TheAlum, thanks man. Poured a super deep amber/muddy brown body underneath a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, rye seeds, bread and candy. Nice fuller body with small bubbly tight carbonation. Flavor is nice with a slight hint of rye towards the end, initial flavor is far more sweet with notes of candy, caramel, toffee, bread and a dry finish. Good stuff.

Pours clean amber with a small white head. The aroma is light sweet malts, not overpowering at all like the BA version. The flavor is light sweet malts as well, with not bite or resiny sweetness for such a high ABV, making it very smooth for my palate. The body is lighter as well which helps, overall decent.

Bottle thanks to motortoddhead. Deep orange/brown/red in color with off-white head. Slightly hazy. Deep passion fruit, citrus, spicy rye, toasted bread, light caramel in the nose. Ultra-smooth citrus, rye spice, and caramel with baked bread, biscuit, toasted malt in the finish. Light hopping throughout, mostly citrus/grapefruit. Most apparent in mid-flavor and finish. Slightly creamy and lighter than expected on the palate. Melding of flavors and pure smoothness make up for this.

Bottle shared by maximum12. Clear dark copper pour, a little carbonation and a nice boozy hop aroma. Flavor is nice spicy hops and a little booze mixed with some sweet caramel throughout. Very good.

Pour big thanks to maximum12/Craig for the pour! Nice clear red pour with thin white head, aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, some spice, nice rye notes in there, touch of vanilla, slight cherry notes as well. Taste is a nice mix of caramel and toffee, some vanilla, caraway and rye spice, hints of sweet slight oxidized cherry, finishes fairly dry. Pretty nicely done, a bit one dimensional overall but good.

22oz bottle pours a mostly transparent, copper amber with one ring of off white head. Nose is nice and spicy, definitely get those caraway seeds, malty, bread, malts, multi grain bread, yeast, sweet, caramel. Flavor is sweet, malty, spicy, you really get a ton of spicy rye, some herbs. Finish is lightly sweet, a little dry too. Super smooth. Love this. Completely drinkable even at 11% ABV. Great job.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. Drank alongside the bourbon-barrel version. The beer pours a clear amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of spicy rye and caraway notes, as well as some biscuit malt and some toffee. The alcohol is well hidden in the aroma. The flavor is full of rye, along with some sweet brown sugar notes. I also get some toffee malt as well as some alcohol. Easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
