Has some hoppy tones to it with a relatively clean smooth finish. Fairly spicy, too, in fact.

Cloudy orange with visible floaties and a white head. Aroma of herbal/tea hops. Taste is light malts, yeast with herbal and tea hops and a dry finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Atom (689) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 20, 2011
On tap at brewpub pours copper/golden with medium off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, citrus, and slight pine. Taste is sweet full bodied caramel malts with slight pine bitterness on the finish. Not bad but doesn’t really do it for me seems like a half decent IPA just not picking up any lager aspects.

draft... nice light gold, clear crisp, off white creamy head, great lacing... light but nice nose, lemon citrus, a bit of flowers, just needs to be stronger... tastes great in a surprising way, light lager backbone that is sweet with some floral zest but has a really nice bite of hops to it, super crisp drinker, new and enjoyable experience
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NobleSquirrel (2677) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2011
Draft at Plainfield MWBF. This was a fresh batch. Pours a mostly clear gold with a persistent white had. The nose is quite nice, popping citrusy hops and some light pine. Also a minty herbal note as well. Very clean with some pils malt notes as well. On taste, nice soft bitterness that is full. Lots of citrus and pine, pretty focused on the hops with a backbone from the pils malt that does stand up. Solid beer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 luttonm (963) - Belgrade, SERBIA - APR 27, 2011
22oz bottle from Chicago. Wow, very nice treat, unique approach. Great aroma, fresh green-bitter hops with a crisp lagery note. Big dry hopped body which is cut by a big sharp sour lager backing. Proper mix, heavy flavors on all sides. Dark copper, hazy body, creamy tan head. Never seen a lager so rich. Dry bittering is very interesting. Worth a taste for sure, but not really up there with the best I’ve tried, though I wish there were more people trying lagers like this, especially in Europe.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DrnkMcDermott (2444) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2011
Blue waxed "Brewer’s Whim" bottle, $9 at Famous Liquors. Pours amber brown under a bubbly IPA head. Smell shows some citrus hops, but it’s held back by some kind of Tholian Web of Lager malt dryness. Taste is full of big Pacific IPA gooeyness, orange citrus hops, sticky malts. And a bit of dry lager finish tempered by a bit of yeast in the bottle. I’m actually a little bit numb after only half the bottle, and it’s got a lot of lace before I refill my Sam Adams lager glass. A wonderful Bryan Shimkos beer, and reminder that I really have no business keeping those other Flossmoor IPAs in the basement.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4837) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 5, 2011
Sample at the brewpub. The brew is a clear golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Sticky top ring of lacing on the glass, with some spots beneath. Aroma of hops, grapefruit and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter citrusy hops flavor underscored by bready malt. The finish is fruity and hoppy with a lingering bitterness left over. Above average overall.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HonkeyBra (2281) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Reddish copper pour with thick white head. Aroma of bitter leafy hops, some grass, definite earthiness in a sage, mint. Flavor of strong citrus and piney hops. Specifically, lots of orange and grapefruit. Some lemon grass. Medium bodied, lightly prickly carbonation. Finishes with a lot of grass and pine. Pretty nice, clean, very hoppy lager.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Roonai (128) - - FEB 26, 2011
On tap at the brewery during Hi-Fi release. Poured a Chestnut orange and smelled of sweet citrus hops. FLavor echoed with the orange peel taste with a nice hop spice that wasnt too overwhelming. Pretty solid and enjoyable.
