3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
cask-like American pale, intense orange hop oil flavours. The carbonation has eased off, and of course hop intensity. Very drinkable, smooth mouthfeel, and I think the 3 plus years has elevated the alcohol as somewhat boozy finish. The sediment was the best.I expected this stored IPA from FlandersNed to evolve into an American barleywine or a vintage ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Photo sent in to be uploaded. Pours with a small white head and a golden orange body with good lacing left by the head. Aroma of orange, diacetyl, grapefruit, tangerine hops, caramel, dust and brown sugar. Taste is citrus hops, brown sugar and a bit of raisins. Good hoppy IPA, but nothing special. Lively bubbles and a dryish mouthfeel.

Under the name of Brewers Whim Dark Green Wax Mango yellow head, dwindling over pale foxy-amber beer. Piney USA hops, inviting with citrus fruit (grapefruit), fresh almonds and lytchee in the nose. Bitter, tad meaty, but surprisingly much sweetness underneath. Very fruity flavours with lytchee, rosewater, grapefruit. Oh, and hops, I suppose? Sticky, hop-oily, well bodied. Long lingering aftertaste that is piney, resiny. Nice, if somewhat classical IPA – not thàt much of a change – premonitious? Abject thanks to Matt vanWyck, ToddA, and of course, my go-between WardvanR!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Courtesy of THE tpd975, thanks Greg. I finally get my first IPA from this brewery. Pours hazy copper – gold with thin off white head. The aroma is full with pine, citrus, grass and earthy hops followed by solid sweet to nearly roasted malts and just a sense of alcohol. Nice aroma. The taste is smooth and thick with a nice pulse of sweet faintly roasted malts and then pine, grassy, resiny and citrus hop bitterness and some late addition hop flavor too. YUM! I get a fantastic play between malts and the varied hops that becomes hop heavy by about midway. The flavors fade out into the finish. Wow. Great IPA and I’ve been lucky enough to have had a few.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
courtesy of awesome Greg, aka tpd975.
Pours hazy golden with white head.
Aroma of light citrus hops.
Taste of floral hops with light caramel malts.
Very smooth, excellent drinkability with very faint bitter hoppy finish.
Really my style of IPA, well balanced and away from the over bitter CA style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A highly refreshing IPA lending towards the tropical fruits side of things. Very nice.
How: Bottle 22oz, green wax. Age unknown but probably fresh and consumed with a few weeks of receiving it from ygtbsm94, thanks a lot Brad.
The look: Very cloudy orange body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Crisp pale malts offers a sugary sweetness that is 50% caramel and 50% old honey turning sugary. The hopping is of the refreshing type, a little resinous but it is mainly fruity with tangerines, pineapples, grapefruits and such. Hints of green tea. This is an very refreshing IPA and it would be world-class if it wasn’t for this long sweet sugary finish. Another nice twist on the style from Flossmoor, tired of the same-old same-old? Try an IPA for change.
