On tap at the brewpub, pours a clear copper with a thin head, the aroma is mainly of malt and caramel, the flavor is what you would expect from the aroma, slight malt and caramel with a little bit of fruit in the finish, mouthfeel was very light, not great.

(10/14/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Flossmoor. Clear amber. Aroma of diacetyl and malt. Sweetish buttery flavor with malt. Medium-bodied.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured an amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was of malts, caramel, dog food, sawdust, and hops. Taste was of malts, the sawdust, and spice. Lingering hop bitterness to finish it off. Definitely didn’t smell too amazing, but was refreshing and easily drinkable.

tap at flossmoor on Collabo Evil release day.... nice semi-transparent caramel body with a thin wispy off-white head..... aroma wasn’t too complex. good dose of toasty caramels...... flavors followed suit with roasted malt and caramels. easy drinking with medium carbonation..... haven’t had too many oktoberfest brews but this one was just about average.

Pint served on tap at the Brewery for the Collaborative Evil release. Poured a nice darkish amber hue with a small offwhite head that looked quite inviting, regardless of the plastic cups. Aromas typical of the style, hearty maltiness balanced with a bit of bittering hops. Body is similar, not one dimensional, but covers the style it is titles as well. Nice mouthfeel, good finish with a touch of hops and a nice malty aftertaste to remind you of what you could have to your lips. A pretty satisfying Oktoberfest. Cheers!

Sampled at the brewery. This was an Oktoberfest that was better than most. Nice malt with some subtle hops, good thick mouthfeel. Worth trying.

I’m usually not a big fan of these but this one was great. Had a much thicker body than I’ve ever had in a lager before, with a subdued but noticeable hop note. Overall one of the better lagers i’ve ever had.

Not a fan of the style and this did nothing to change that. Amber body with a big white head. The nose what bread dough, toffee, some fruit. Flavor was malty and nutty with some fruit. Just didn’t do it for me.

i never understand what cornfield and rayboy are talking about. this one had an amber color with a small head. the aroma was mostly air and the flavor was sweet and spicy (with spices i couldn’t identify, but i am a simple man). the finish was watery, and i suppose i could drink a bunch of these if i had to. i have probably ruined my palate with my degenerate lifestyle.
