Growler fill from the Flossmoor gathering. Hazy deep orange pour with a big thick white head that stays big the whole time and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is just fresh with orange, grapefruit, melon and leafy freshness. Taste is melon, grapefruit, orange with a touch of pine and bitterness in the finish. A very subtle touch of caramel to balance it out with a very thick and full bodied mouthfeel and a spot on carbonation level. This is an IIPA at it’s finest with straight up hop juice and pretty much all base grains with a touch of caramel to balance it and give a touch of sweetness but give hardly any flavor allowing the hops to shine and it’s so freakin thick it’s like having a meal. I’m so glad I got a growler and will drink this all to myself.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, amber body with a small, white head. Smell: Lightly citric-smelling aroma of butterscotch candies, orange oils, and a slight grassiness. Taste: Sweetish blending of juiced oranges and butterscotch icecream topping. Medium-high bitterness. Slight touch of booze. A few spoonfuls of fruit smoothies. Slight sweetness on the predominately bitter finish. Mouthfeel: A bit above medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A very good Double IPA.

Bottle: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a foamy off-white head. Big, fresh piny grapefruity assertive hop nose has a touch of light fruity notes and sweet caramel malt. Body starts with good full sweet malty character and lots of fresh grapefruity flavor hops. FInishes smooth, crisp and bittersweet. A nice double IPA.

22oz bottle, with gold wax. Aroma lacks the pot aroma of the black wax bottle. Don’t get me wrong, this one has its own very disinct hop aroma. Woodier with citrus. Flavor is a rich carmael malt, followed up by a woddy hop character. Very bitter character. I would rather have the Pretty Big with a nice spicy pork dish. yuumy.

Pours a hazy copper color with a white head. Aroma is caramel, toast, and juicy citrus hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, biscuit, and a bitter earthy citrus hop finish.
