CaptainCougar (4596), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a foamy off-white head. Big, fresh piny grapefruity assertive hop nose has a touch of light fruity notes and sweet caramel malt. Body starts with good full sweet malty character and lots of fresh grapefruity flavor hops. FInishes smooth, crisp and bittersweet. A nice double IPA. hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 17, 2008 Draft... DLD’08... Murky amber/orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is bursting at the seams with earthy, citric and Simcoe hops... cat piss, grapefruit and pine with an afterthought of toffee. Full-bodied and creamy with reserved carbonation. Citrusy grapefruit pith and bitter rind. Well-balanced finish with a tangy snap at the wee end. Cornfield (4245), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2008 The hop shortage doesn’t seem to have hit Flossmoor Station yet. Brewed with Simcoe, Centennial, and Cascade hops, dried hopped with the same along with some Summit and Amarillo hops... This is sinful... and I am thankful! It poured a cloudy amber body topped by a fluffy off-white head that coated the glass with heavy lace. I’m sure there was some malt in there, but the aroma is chock-full of yellow grapefruit, ctirus zest, a pine needle or two, and a slight earthiness... everything I enjoy in a pretty big IPA. The flavor’s surprizingly balanced, a malty sweetness coming through in the midpoint. But the hops eventually take over with a peppery heat and a sharp bitterness that lasts long into the dry finish. Another dandy ale by Matt & Andrew. <font size=-4>Mug Club Tapping at Flossmoor Station, Flossmoor, IL<font size=-1> jcwattsrugger (3724), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 9, 2008 22oz bottle@Noogfest4.0-thanks heemer–pours a white head and hazy copper color.
