Commercial Description:
This robust, dark brown ale gets its rich flavor from seven different malts and three types of hops. The addition of hand-toasted oats and a generous portion of molasses give the Pullman Nut Brown Ale an incredible smoothness and quaffability.

Bottle [22oz] shared with the gang at ’WaterlooWeekend Oct.’09’ -- c/o J&K. Weird, it gushed out on the 3rd pour. Pours a very dark brown with a large foamy beige head. Pretty nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and vanilla -- perhaps a bit of staleness as well. Flavour of toasted dark malt, light green hops, nuts and maple syrup. Average to medium bodied. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Overly carbonated but other then that quibble it’s quite good.

Bottle thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum!
Dark red-brown with a thin beige head. Nose of light graham cracker, hints of green hop and hints of fruit and almond, but the strong chocolate wins out over everything. Same with the flavor, hints of bitter wood and toast being submerged under the chocolate malt. Rather sticky, drying body. Good stuff, but not very balanced and so seemingly simple.

[2536-20091024] 1pt6floz bottle. Rich toasted chocolate malt fruit aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown red body with a quick foamy dark brown head. More rich chocolate malt in the flavour. Full body. Nice, very pleasant.

2009-10-24. Dark brown body. 3+ Dry roasty malt aroma. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet caramel toasted malt, dry roast and toast overtones. 6+ Average palate is quite carbonated. Ok. Pretty decent brown ale, but a touch simple overall. Might have felt differently about it on a different day. Tastes a bit like the molasses may have fermented out a bit more in the bottle though, based on the dryness and the carbonation. Bottle from Binny’s, Chicago

22 oz bomber. This is the first beer I’ve tried from Flossmoor Station, but they made a good first impression with this one. It really has a wonderfully rich and malty aroma for a brown ale. The molasses really works very well with the nose that has other notes of toasted nuts, coffee with cream, light vanilla, oaty grain malts, and some raisin and dark fruits. The pour could have had more going on, but fairly standard for the style with a light head, medium thick appearance, and chocolate brown in color. A nice body overall, nothing too intense, but has the right balance of smooth and crisp aspects for the flavors working here. The roasted, nutty dark grain malts are pretty nice, along with the sweet molasses/caramels, light darker fruits, and good background of fairly non distinct hop. If anything, there maybe could be a little more to offer on the flavor profile, but overall, this was a very good standard brown ale.

Thanks Jon for bringing this one bck. A malty brown, not too sweet, with some chocolate and cocunt. Nice foamy head. Above average mouthfeel, somewhat complex.

22 oz bottle.pours a deep brown color with a great thick small bubbled head. Aroma is has a slight chocolate malt note, lots of nuttiness, mild coffee bitter note, zero hops and overall has a very toasted earthy note to it. Flavor starts with a very bitter roasted malt note, slightly acidic feeling, a very light walnut nuttiness in the middle, some light caramel sweetness, a very light earthy hops bite and light dark chocolate note towards the end to finish it out. Density was pretty good with a mod/high carbonation that was very fine and aided in retaining the great creamy oat-y head that left great lacing in the glass. Overall a great brown with a lot of fantastic malt notes that really blend together and fitting the style perfectly.
