The toasy malt character is amazing, I love that in a beer. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a lacy off-white head. The beer itself has an amazing malt profile, with a great balance. This beer won first place in the Brown category at the World Beer Cup, so that tells you something. This is quite a beer. This is year round on tap at the brewery. 1FastSTi (2557), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2006 Pours to a very dark brown. Can’t see through it much at all except near the edges. The beer has a nice creamy tan head with a nice lacing. The aroma is soapy walnuts, oatsacks. The flavor is heavily walnuts, peanuts, molasses, raw oats. The palate is creamy, medium-full bodied. Pretty tasty for a nut brown. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA

Poured a very small off-white head that was mostly lasting, poor lacing, transparent, uncarbonated, and a reddish brown hue. Malty, nutty and hoppy aroma. Flavor was malty, roasty, nutty, and rich. Smooth palate. Light-medium body.
