Commercial Description:
This robust, dark brown ale gets its rich flavor from seven different malts and three types of hops. The addition of hand-toasted oats and a generous portion of molasses give the Pullman Nut Brown Ale an incredible smoothness and quaffability.

Not my best notes: Malty, nutty, good flavour development. An enjoyable brew. Wish I could be more helpful but festival notes get kind of pathetic sometimes.

Objectively speaking: Tasty and rather full-bodied brown ale.
I like: Original example with strong maple notes. Effective roastiness manages to attenuate the excessive sweetness. Distinctive and relatively intense. Controlled hoppiness compared to most of their other ales.
I dislike: Certainly sweeter than most, its flavours almost reach a molasses territory. I’d prefer further developments in the toasty scope. Not particularly complex. The high scores struck me as a surprise compared to the 2.7-2.8 their other regulars gather.

RBSG2003 This beer rocks! Beautiful beer! Crystal clear ruby ale. Very dark. Lightly-tanned fizzy head. Decent lacing. The nose is of roasted malt, milk chocolate, Blue Mountain coffee and light smoke. Roasted nuts in the aroma as well. The bittersweet cocoa flavor is followed by espresso and roasted cashews. Perfectly balanced! Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. Excellent, world-class brew!

Rerate on tap at the brewpub on 4/28/06: Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a thin wispy tan head. Sweet, toasty, earthy, grainy dark malty aroma has a touch of English hops. Body starts with a lot of carbonation, dissipating revealing sweet, toasty and lightly bready malt. Finishes with some bittering piney hops toward a semi-dry finish. Nicely balanced and enjoyable.

Sampled on 11/29/03: Dark copper brown with a puffy tan head. Sweet chocolate, malt, and oat aroma. Body has a very nice sweetness to it, with flavors of coffee, milk chocolate and granola. The finish is bittersweet and lingering. A very nice and unique brown ale.

Bottle courtesy of msante79. Pours brown with a thin off white head. Smells of roasted malt, earthy, some tea, dark fruit. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malt, some bitter hints. Very full bodied.
