4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DavoleBomb (1389) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Poured into a snifter.
4.0 A: Completely opaque orange brown color (more toward the brown end). Two fingers of super creamy off-white head with average retention and a good bit of lacing.
5.0 S: Wonderful aroma! Super citrusy with tons of pineapple, orange and blood orange, mango, and grapefruit. A touch, but just a touch, of sugariness. Light breadiness works well with the outstanding hop aroma.
4.5 T: Really nice here as well. I had feared that a yeastiness (based on the opaqueness) would seep too far into the taste. Rather, the hops remain in almost full control with a light yeasty breadiness complementing the flavor profile. Hops are again citrusy and perhaps a bit piney as well. Though the hop flavor isn’t nearly as strong as the hop smell, it is still quite powerful. Orange is the strongest flavor, followed by pineapple and grapefruit, with mango and pine behind that. Moderate bitterness.
4.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Yeastiness can be thanks for the contribution to a lovely, creamy mouthfeel.
5.0 D: This beer has struck an almost perfect balance between bitterness, hop flavor, and yeastiness. Well done!

The aroma is strongly of pineapple/kiwi with some yeast as well. The flavor is similar to the aroma along with a decent maltiness and a mildly tart finish. A unique IPA, the heavy tropical fruit flavor makes it stand out.

Bottle. Dark clear orange pour, light lacing and a rich malty&hoppy aroma. Flavor is creamy orange, hops, nice strong malt backbone and finished with a little grapefruit. Solid.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DrnkMcDermott (2621) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2010
Draft sampler at FSRB. Second on my sampler paddle, the foam had already subsided, but left a thick coating on the sides of the glass. Beer itself is a dark copper color. Nose showed of the strength of the Amarillo hops. That pungent character came through in the taste, which also brought out pine and resin from the other big American hops. Malts finally show up at the end by offering some stickiness on the palate, which helps settle the hoppy aftertaste. Though this the new default bottled IPA, I’m glad I had it fresh here, cause I tend to store my bombers until I can "get to them," and I’d hate to have missed this hop bomb.

bottle. hazy orange/amber with a small, stable, white head. earthy, caramel, bready malt nose with floral and light pine scented hops. a lot of malt in this full bodied ipa. drinks easy with low to moderate carbonation and a modest abv. heavy crystal malt and bready base malts provide a hearty canvas for the earthy piney simcoe, cutting galena and tropical amarillo hops. nice beer!

22 oz. bottle purchased at the brewpub. Dark orange pour with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is clean pine and fresh cut grass. Tons of grapefruit, pine, tangerine, and nectarines in the flavor. Really not very well balanced but perfect for the hop lover. A fantastic IPA.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 justsayswell (21) - Missouri, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Bomber into my new glarus glass. Caramel and pine aroma. Pours murky amber with a lovely fluffy toasted marshmallow head. Good head retention on this beer. Taste is piney and tropical hops, brown sugar, and bready malt. Good bitterness on the front end, just enough sweet malt to keep it from being too hop-forward. Carbonation is soft. Great IPA. More of an English style IPA, the sweetness is almost ESB-like.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Keil (171) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Pours a murky amber. Aroma is pretty nice...bubblegum, grapefruit, pine, ctirus. Very resiny and hoppy. Very bitter with a strong hop flavor. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Sweet, fruity hops. Bitterness lingers but theres a subtle malt sweetness. Well done.

1. Look - A medium amber color IPA with a big beige head.
2. Sniff – There is a very nice nose and hop aroma present.
3. Sip – This IPA is a medium bodied ale with a lot of different flavors and tastes. Initially, there is a nice malty flavor followed with a dry piney and grapefruit taste.
4. Another Look – The beer looks good. The head is long lasting and the color is very appealing.
5. Evaluate – Overall, this big ale is very tasty. It has a delicate malty taste with a desirable dry bitter finish. This is a great IPA. I would absolutely recommend this IPA to my family and friends.
