A: The beer pours a hazy amber color with a small white head.
S: Definitely a nice sour kick to this one. Lots of fruit notes, though it doesn’t necessarily come off as pomegranate. Lots of berry notes with a mild vinegar tartness to go along with some lemon and oak.
T: Lots of tart fruits to this with the pomegranate being a bit more obvious. Lightly acetic with some lemon, raspberry, and strawberry notes. There’s a light malt/bread sweetness on the middle part of the sip and finishes with tons of sourness.
M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.
O: The light vinegar note was actually pretty enjoyable and the flavors were solid all around.

Brownish pour. Aroma hits right off with some tart fruit...cherries, pomegranate? maybe a hint. Some light vinous notes and vinegar. Flavor is sour but not puckeringly so. I get some nice wine notes, tart fruit. Damn good beer. Glad to have tried this one!

RBSG 2010 in Grand Rapids. Deep amber pour. The nose is very lactic and tart. Fresh and fruity with a bright floral character as well. Fairly fresh with a soft sweetness through the middle of the palate. Some dried raisin character but it comes across as somewhat dried out. A kiss of funkiness. Quite an interesting brew.

Unlabeled 22 oz bottle. My rating #1900! Thanks Adam! Lightly fogged brown with a bubble or two. Nose is sour woody cherry or maybe pomegranate; touch of white wine vinegar. Medium light with fine, tongue tickling carb. Taste is toffee, tart red fruit, lemon and oak. Like with the aroma the taste is not quite identifiable as pomegranate with hints of cherry and raspberry. Vinous notes seem to wash away some of the sweetness but still nicely crisp and elegant.

Tasted on draft at FoBAB 2010. Pours a muddy brown-orange with no head, but a thin off-white lace collar. The nose is caramel malt, chocolate, grenadine, barnyard funk, and some vinegar tartness. The flavor is very dry and sour with some cocoa, caramel, malty bread, and pomegranate. The body is medium with an oily texture, light carbonation and a long sour pomegranate finish.

Draft sample at FOBAB 2010. I had this early, before it was announced this took the gold in the sour category. Pours a cloudy brown color with red tints and a small head. Notes of butterscotch, honey, balsamic vinegar, tart cherries, lactic acid, and dry funk. The nose is more buttery than sour, but the mouthfeel is more dry and acidic. Medium-bodied. This was a very good sour but not the best of the day- it’s interesting and tasty, but all over the place.

FoBAB 2010: Pours a murky reddish brown with an okay head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of raspberry, riesling grape, lacto acid, horsey brett, flowery, ginger snaps, biscuit and pomegranate jam, and a slight woody note. The taste is twangy fruit, moderate sourness and light funk with a grassy, herbal, caramel, and biscuity undertone. Finishes with a tannic woody note. The mouth feel is lively and crisp, refreshing. A nice beer that I really did not much personal expections for and it went above and beyond.

Sampled from the tap at 2010 FOBAB. Poured a cloudy yellow amber with a tan head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a nice tart pomegranate with a bit of acid underlying. Flavor began with tart pomegranate that became sour and finished dry. Well balanced and interesting use of pomegranate.

Had the opportunity to try this one from adam at numerous occasions and again most recently at fobab 2010...Pours dark reddish brown with a thin short lived head.... aroma had some sour funk, tart red fruit and a mild vinegar acidity...tart acidic vinegar flavors with lots of sour red fruit. carbonation is a little light but still refreshing and drinkable.
